We started our candle business shortly after we were married in June 1991. We read several books about General Candle making and bought some supplies at our local Craft Store. We started experimenting with different wax, fragrance, color and additives. We had our family and friends try our candles, they were impressed.

We began selling our finished products at local craft shows throughout the year. We quickly received compliments on our candles and had return customers show after show. We began to feel that we had a good product. We took the next step, which was to open a Retail Shop. In November 1996 we opened our doors in Flemington, New Jersey.

Then in January 1997, we launched our website. We quickly began receiving e-mail from companies interested in our candles. We watched our Wholesale and Retail Sales expand. During the last three years we have produced several new products and fragrances. Our candles are sold throughout the United States in local business.

The next thing that started to happen was that some of our customers started to want to make there own candles but could not find the supplies and asked us if we were ever going to sell them. Well, in October 1999 we started another division of B & R Candles just to sell candle supplies. It got off to a slow start but is steadily increasing.

Some time in the middle of the summer of 2000 we made a major move in the industry. When other companies were lowering their fragrance in their candles in order to maintain the prices of their product due to increased prices of petroleum (Gas), we doubled our fragrance level from 5% to 10% in our Jar candles and Votives and increased the price of our candles. This made our product just that much better then our competitors. A few months later we added the "How to section" to our web site to help out our fellow crafters.

On January 1, 2001 B & R Candles closed it's current location in Flemington in search of another site. We will be selling our current inventory of finished candles along with displays. We will continue selling Candle Making Supplies. We suspect that we will only sell products over the Internet, Phone and Mail order. Please visit our site regularly for updates.

As of December 1, 2002, we have official closed our business B & R Candles. After 10 years in the Candle Industry, we will keep this website active along as possible for your convenience.
